Civil Litigation

United Law Company (ULC) civil litigation lawyers provide initial consultations with a view of early settlement of a case if that is practicable. If not, the law firm’s litigation staff strives to deliver a superior litigation effort for the client to resolve the case quickly in an effort to avoid a trial, through mediation or arbitration, or if trial is needed through trial to a favorable result to the client.

Many legal disputes today never reach a courtroom trial—negotiation, mediation, and arbitration resolve many issues. We represent clients with an eye towards resolving disputes informally before clients incur the expense of going to trial. But when alternative dispute resolution efforts fail to produce the results our clients need, we turn to our professional efforts.

Our clients include individuals, associations and organizations, small businesses, nonprofit entities, partnerships, and corporations of all size. We provide litigation expertise, strategy, and the kind of attention to detail and precision that has earned ULC a reputation as an effective advocate in all areas of civil litigation.

Such civil actions are begun by the person making the claim, called the plaintiff, filing a document called a plaint/suit against the other party, known as the defendant, and having a summons issued and served on the defendant which requires the defendant to file a written statement within a specified period of time (ordinarily 30 days).

ULC handles complex civil litigation and other general legal matters for clients of all sizes and levels of sophistication. We understand that when clients contact us needing assistance with whatever legal issue has presented itself to them or their business, their only concern is having that issue resolved favorably and efficiently so that there is as little impact on their business as possible. At ULC, this is our focus -- creative, innovative problem solving so that our clients can get back to business as usual.
